Hard at work

After a lot of time and thought, I believe I may have spoken too soon on whether the newest novel would be part of a series or not. The more that I write, the more ideas just come to my mind. I have seriously contemplated just finishing it and leaving Bound Together open for the imagination of my readers. The problem that I have with that is how many people would probably be upset that it was left open for interpretation.

I am one of those people that has to have an ending. I don't want to guess what the writer was getting at or if she/he had intended for me to come up with my own ending. I don't like surprises or things that are unfinished and I hate to do that to other people. How frustrating would it be to pick up a book and then get to the end only to be so disappointed that the story was good but the ending SUCKED!!! I HATE THAT!!!

At my current rate, I would have to have a novel that would probably be around 1000 pages, maybe even more. Plus, I don't think I could get anything out before next year if I went that route. As tempting as it is, I'd so much rather put out a decent sized novel so people can start to see where I am going with this! Though my first novel was a huge accomplishment, this novel is something more. I have grown as a writer and I am truly excited to see what people think of the story line, characters, and the writing in general.

Bound Together

So I've decided that I won't be doing two books for my current novel. I was never intending to use multiple books as a way of making more money off of the general public, so I'm not going to. Quite frankly, I find it very irritating that so many authors are making these short books that continue on forever and people have to keep buying more of them to figure out where it ends. If it annoys me, and I'm an author, I can only imagine how others feel. So I wont be making my readers suffer through another novel that leaves them hanging!!

 I'm not quite sure how long this novel will be yet, considering that I'm only just finishing the fourteenth chapter, but I will say that it wont be as short as my last one. I just want to share my writing with everyone and I want people to be able to say, "I just read a book by Ashley N. Pearce and it was amazing!".

Indie Editing

So I just wanted to take a moment to vent because this issue truly drives me nuts when it comes to reviewing indie novels. When I read a novel, I am reading the story and trying to enjoy the story line, understand the characters, and try to figure out what will happen. The last thing I care about is how well a novel is edited. Granted, I can see it getting frustrating if the entire book is mainly an error but human error happens!! Editing is not a perfect thing. Even on the most well loved, well known novels, I have found misspellings, missing punctuation, etc. Why is it that people can't just read a story for the story without acting like they are the editing police?

Bound Together update!

So after a lot of thinking and writing, I have come to the conclusion that this novel is never going to fit into one book. Depending on how this story evolves (which it has become a completely different story than I first planned) will depend on how many installments there will be :) 

Now when I first started this novel, I knew that it was going to include a strong female character, a hunky counterpart and a bad guy. But to my delight, it has become so much more than that!!! Knowing where I am now at chapter 13, there have been a lot of unforeseen events that just happened to cross my mind at the perfect time. 

I am hoping that at this rate I will be able to release it no later than the beginning of 2014 but I am hoping that it will make it out by December!!! I will keep you all updated on the books status!

Contemplating a giveaway

I have been trying to decide if I wanted to do a giveaway of Intuitions Nightmare or not now that it is available in print. I guess I just don't know how to go about it so I have yet to do anything.
